LocStar a Member of the Computer Science and Information Technology Academic Council "Rada ds. Kompetencji Absolwentów"
2011-01-17
We have become part of a new ground-breaking initiative in partnership with a university faculty of computer science and information technology. On 10 December 2010, the Graduate Competence Council (Rada ds. Kompetencji Absolwentów) was established at a local university faculty of computer science and information technology. The council brought together the region’s most important IT companies, including LocStar (then Moravia IT).
Its initiators were the dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Dr. Antoni Wiliński (PhD, Engineering), and Dr. Włodzimierz Ruciński, (PhD, Engineering) the deputy dean for development and continuing education. The council includes the following companies:
AI Magnetic Point, Consileon Polska, BLStream, Geomar S.A., IAI S.A., IT Serwis, MARPO, MORAVIA IT, NTConsult, Orad, Polskie Stow. na rzecz Atestacji i Standaryzacji oprogramowania (SASO), RED SKY, SPNT, Tieto Poland, Unizeto Technologies S.A., X-comp, and Zachodniopomorskie Centrum Kształcenia Nauczycieli.
Szczecin Vice President Aleksander Buwelski was also present at the council meeting and stated that the IT industry is an area of opportunity for the further development of Szczecin.
The council’s work will be focused on creating a curriculum that will enable graduates to seamlessly enter the workforce during their college education and after graduation. Members of the council also offered their support for developing internship programs.
